experience skinny weft extensions
Skinny Weft is a method for installing hair extensions that replaces many of the other methods on the market due to its natural results and damage free application.
Experience Skinny Weft and I'm confident you will be amazed at the difference.
Whether you're looking to add more volume, length, or both, hair extensions may just be the perfect solution for you. It all starts with a thorough consultation: How short is your hair? What's your target look? Is your hair dense enough to hide the beaded rows? What at-home care maintenance is expected to maintain the extensions? I'll answer any questions you may have; do your research to ensure the best possible results!
What is Skinny Weft?
Skinny Weft is a method of installing weft extensions in a safe and comfortable way. There is no glue, tape nor bonds making it easy to install and remove. Skinny Weft utilizes only 10% on your own hair and are expertly blended and customized to match your own from root to tip.
Featuring small silicone lined beaded anchors, your extensions lay in the direction of your natural hair growth. The hand-tied hair wefts are attached to the beaded anchors using a lock knot stitch to ensure the beads will stay securely in place, laying flat beneath the weft. This prevents the beads from migrating above your weft and becoming visible.
Is it safe for all hair types?
Skinny Weft utilizes approximately 10% or less of your own hair leaving the majority of your hair free to flow and grow. By doing so, attachments are safe and mindfully placed to ensure even weight distribution to hold the weight of the weft. This prevents wear and tear on the scalp and erosion of the hair follicles. The amount of hair used is dependent upon your own density so too much hair is never placed on one row. The beauty of this method is it can be fully customized to your needs.
With proper care and maintenance Skinny Weft can be left in for up to 6 months of continuous wear, provided regular 4 week maintenance tune ups are done.
How long does it last?
Once installed Skinny Weft can be worn continuously for up to 6 months with monthly "Tune Ups" every 4 weeks. Each tune up appointment takes between 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the number of rows installed. After 6 months the extensions are fully removed and can be reinstalled at the reinstallation rate.
Can I still color my hair?
Absolutely! I do recommend having your first color session done prior to installation that way your hair color is fresh all over. Then you can do touchups on your roots as needed. When you have Skinny Weft installed, highlights can be done on the top of your head and around the hair line as well as the nape area. If you get a solid root color to cover grays, your touch ups can be performed the same day as your tune up.
How often are the extensions moved up?
Maintenance is required every 4 weeks and follows the general shedding cycle. If you wait longer than 4 weeks your tune up may take longer due to extra shedding and cross hairs to work around. If you wait 6 weeks or more then it is subject to a reinstallation.
What’s the difference between hand-tied extensions and other methods?
The term "hand-tied" has become a trendy way to refer to the broader term "sew-in" extensions, but actually “hand-tied” refers to the type of weft that is sewn onto the hair, not the technique. It is different from machine wefts in that they are created by hand and are incredibly thin. This makes them more comfortable and easy to conceal compared to tape ins, micro links and keratin extensions.
Can I swim in the ocean or in a pool?
Yes, but with great caution! Extension hair has been processed so it is naturally very dry and needs a lot of moisture. Salt water and chlorine can further dry your extensions and shorten their life span. If you decide to venture into the ocean or pool, it is recommended that you first wet your hair in the shower and spray thoroughly with a leave in conditioner before putting it into two braids. Rinse and shampoo immediately after all water activities.
The molecules from the water and leave in will help to dilute any salt water and chlorine.
How much does it cost?
Determining the cost of your Skinny Weft installation is established by factors such as your desired length, volume, color and hair quality. A consultation is required to discuss your personalized needs and it's an opportunity for you to learn in detail about the amazing benefits of Skinny Weft, how it is different from other methods you may have tried before, and get your personalized quote.
